Before you read the “spoiler” bullet points below take a careful look at the text. Imagine it is a text you are using for one of your DP Language A Language and Literature assessments: the individual oral, the HL essay, or Paper 1 and analyze it accordingly. (This text would not be appropriate for Paper 2).
Some elements of the text to consider:
- The use of large text and the exclamation mark in the top half of the text
- The simple but dramatic color scheme
- The selective use of red to highlight key points of the text
- The map of Iran with the label “Iran” in a different font than the rest of the text
- The red reticle placed over Iran indicating how it is being targeted
- The repetition of “No” and the use of red with “No”
- Information in the text that indicates the time and place of the protest / rally and information about the organizer of the protest / rally
